THE CLINIC

FYLDE SPORTS INJURY CLINICS  is located in the market town of Kirkham on the Fylde Coast, near Preston. It is close to junction 3 of the M55, and so is within easy reach for patients in much of Cumbria, Lancashire and the North West. The clinic is open for face to face or remote/telephone consultations, as is appropriate and preferred. FYSICL carefully controls its appointments to maximise social distancing, and minimise patients in the clinic at any one time. We have two spacious consulting rooms and effective anti-covid19 policies and hygiene measures in place; these are regularly reviewed to ensure your visit and consultation are safe and comfortable.

FYSICL is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and specialises in musculoskeletal injury management and sports medicine. We offer in-house diagnostic ultrasound and a wide range of guided-injections, as well as other services.

The clinic is led by consultant physician Dr Duncan Robertson, who is a GMC registered specialist in Sports & Exercise Medicine (since 2011). Duncan has over 30 years combined practise in sports medicine, military training injuries and in the NHS. FYSICL is managed by Kate, who is also an experienced Registered Nurse and Health Visitor.

FYSICL treats all musculoskeletal (msk) complaints and was created to be accessible to everyone, whatever your age, background, sport, pastime, job or skill level.  We welcome patients from all groups, whether hill-walkers, gardeners, cyclists, runners or elite athletes to junior sports - or even if your pain is an arthritic-type joint pains or is triggered by work.

FYSICL also offers physiotherapy, and staff include Mr David Fevre (ex-Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United). David has been working in elite sports physiotherapy, rehabilitation and injury prevention since 1984.

In addition, Mr Chris Wilding is our expert in performance and physical conditioning, and does sessions at the clinic. He has looked after the fitness of first team players at Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United, and is also a fully qualified physiotherapist. Chris focuses on performance issues, and offers consultations on individualised programmes to improve strength and physical conditioning, to help your training become more effective and less injury-prone.
